Yum Audio launches its business with 4 initial Innovative Sound Tools: Spread, Spread Light, LoFi Playtime and LoFi Pitch Dropout
Yum Audio is a German-based new audio plugin developer. Yum Audio has launched its business with the initial release of four innovative audio plugins. The whole product line-up for its brand launch is composed of 'Spread' (a multi-band stereo-image controller), 'Spread Light' (a single-band stereo-image controller), 'LoFi Playtime' (a time-based LoFi effector), and 'LoFi Pitch Dropout' (a LoFi pitch-error simulator). Especially, LoFi Playtime and LoFi Pitch Dropout are the first two plugins of Yum Audio’s upcoming LoFi series of plugins. To commemorate the launch of the business, Yum Audio is offering 30% off all products except Spread Light, which is offered free for a limited time. In addition, you can purchase all of these four plugins for only €99 (99 Euro) as a special bundle price. Let’s take a brief look at the major features of each plugin.
Spread is a multi-band stereo-image controller. It gives you an instant control over the width and panning of four different bands in the frequency spectrum. The signal entering Spread is split into four bands of frequencies and then sent to their respective width controllers. Splitting the audio into multiple bands allows you to boost the top-end width of a signal while centering its bass frequencies for a tighter low end.

Spread Light is a single-band stereo-image controller. It allows you to narrow the stereo width of your tracks or push them wider in mixing and mastering situations. With ‘Width’ and ‘Tilt’ controls, your can alter the perceived width and position of a stereo signal in multiple ways. Both controls have two different ways to create these stereo manipulations based on the mode selected. Like Spread, M/S and Haas modes are provided.

LoFi Playtime is a time-based LoFi effector. It is a magical and unique plugin that allows you to literally play with time. Yum Audio designed virtual tape circuits and used them in a way that would be quite complex to re-create on an analog device. The result is a very characterful and unique effect that you can use to pitch, reverse, or add delays and space to your audio. The signal entering LoFi Playtime goes into the virtual tape circuit which is connected to a second delay machine. There are two tape heads that are integrated into the virtual tape circuit. The user has full control of the readout speed of the tapes, so you can pitch the signal an octave up or down, reverse it, or make each of the tapes more worn out.

LoFi Pitch Dropout is a LoFi pitch-error simulator. It creates subtle to strong pitch-error effects on your incoming audio. Imagine a tape in an old playback system getting stuck and then running faster to catch up, resulting in a nice and soft irregularity in the pitch of your signal. LoFi Pitch Dropout allows you to do this from the barely noticeable to the extremely often to add an extra layer of character to your sounds. The signal entering LoFi Pitch Dropout goes into the virtual tape circuit and dropouts are randomly generated based on the settings that you have dialed in. The dropouts are designed to happen at random, yet maintain a musical and realistic feeling to them. You can manually trigger dropouts by pressing the dropout button, so you can write your dropouts at specific points in time.
