Whatabaudio 'Crime Fundamentals 2': A Collection of 180 u-he Zebra 2 Presets suitable for Crime Film Genre
The German professional film composer Andreas Moisa owned sound design company Whatabaudiohas released 'Crime Fundamentals 2' — A collection of 180 crime-themed presets for u-he’s Zebra 2 software synthesizer. Crime Fundamentals 2 was designed with the crime drama genre in mind.
The new release offers deep and rumbling basses, emotional and glassy pads, simple and effective pulses and tickies, dark drones, quirky keys and a vast array of useful effects and swells, and all of these are ready for production right out of the box.
Crime Fundamentals 2 is the second part of the Crime Fundamentals series by Whatabaudio. The collection complements the dark and suspenseful atmosphere of the original library and adds new categories like thrilling bends, cinematic guitars or dirty tonal hits. With a strong representation of driving pulses and tickies, exciting swells and effects Crime Fundamentals 2 keeps up the pace not only in crime and thriller soundtracks but also in investigative documentaries.
Scoring a crime show or thriller movie ask for a big range of styles and emotions. There is mystery, suspense and tension, sadness and despair but also hope and relief. There is murder, investigation, suspicion, interrogation, action, drama and the always ticking clock in a race against time. Like it’s predecessor, Crime Fundamentals 2 gives you a complementary set of tools to cover every aspect of a story in your work as a film composer.
The patches are easy to use and are designed to sound like a film-score and sit in the mix and around the dialogue right out of the box. Every sound was made with a certain purpose in mind and you can only tweak them within a range that serves a scene or emotion best. In the description of each patch you will find a suggestion of how to use the patch the best way, what to play and what’s the best tempo and key-range.
Crime Fundamentals 2 is inspired by stirring soundtracks like 'Young Wallander' (Matti Bye), 'The Sinner' (Ronit Kirchman) or 'Deadwind' (Juri Seppä) but is also real-world tested with Andreas Moisa’s scoring work for Germany’s biggest crime-drama series 'SOKO Leipzig'.
