Devicemeister ‘StepicVST’: A Polyphonic Step Sequencer Plug-in that provides True Sound Shaping Capabilities by Fully Integrated Modulation Sequencers

The German audio software developer Devicemeister has recently released 'StepicVST' — A polyphonic step sequencer plug-in with 8 additional and fully integrated modulation sequencers that provides true sound shaping capabilities. StepicVST is available as a VST and AU plug-in for PC and Mac. StepicVST’s another version 'Stepic for Live' is compatible only with Ableton Live.

StepicVST enables you to create deep, polyrhythmic parameter progressions that add a lot of movement and uniqueness to your sound through assigning different tempos and sequence lengths to the modulation sequencers. Also, you can automate any parameter such as filter cutoff, wavetable position and effect amount of your favorite synthesizers or effect devices with the modulation sequencers. StepicVST offers you parameter control for both software plug-ins and hardware devices via its support for MIDI CC. The over 200 random generators can create variety and unpredictable moments in your sound.

With StepicVST you can store your ideas in up to 16 patterns and use pattern concatenation for building sequences fay beyond 16 steps. Also, you can keep your grooves in key by using Stepic’s scale system. To keep your sequences interesting and mixed up, you can define a separate sequence length for each section (pitch, octave, duration, etc.).

The chord editor with 6-octave range enables you to set individual chords for each step. You can also control the probability of notes being played and explore Note Repeat feature, Transpose Mode and Offset & Range. To optimize and speed up your workflow, you can copy sequences between sections and patterns. You can organize your devices and plug-ins in MIDI Device Manager having all the parameters to be adjusted at your fingertips.
