Tomas Brhel, the software developer based in Czech Republic has recently announced the release of 'Song Noter' — The music collaboration app (iOS) that allows users to create time-stamped notes on their audio files and share them with friends. The company says "Song Noter is a new way of communication for musicians". Essentially, Song Noter is a messenger app with integrated music player. Thanks to this, users can create a chat group and discuss their music with band mates. Audio files with notes are separated into individual projects which can be shared directly in the app by typing user's email address. The notes are being stamped time and highlighted while the audio is playing. Currently, an Android version of Song Noter is said to be in the development stage.

Main view of Song Noter consists of Projects list and Settings tab. Tapping on already existing projects in the list will open project screen with music player and notes. Cloud icon downloads audio file from the server. You can access to an audio file of project which your friend shared with you by tapping on Cloud icon. By clicking on the plus button (+) in upper right corner, users can access to the screen for creating a project.

To create a new project, enter name of your new project and select an audio file by tapping on 'Select a file' button. This opens standard iOS Files document folder. Currently supported audio formats for Song Noter are MPEG-4, MP3, WAV and AIFF. Complete your new project creation by tapping on 'Create' button.

The music player of Song Noter is simple and easy to use. It consists of project title, play/pause button and progress bar which can be dragged to desired time. You can create note by typing in text field on the bottom. Time Stamp is created when you hit the send button. The time corresponds to progress bar position at the state of sending the note.

After tapping on 'Share project' button (accessible from three dots button next to project in Main View screen) you will enter the screen with a list of user's emails. If you can't see any contact yet, click on person button on the right side. Enter valid email address of your contact and add it to the list. Sharing starts as soon as you tap on user's email in the list.
