"FreqInOut FO1 is more than a product; it's a paradigm shift in how analog and digital can seamlessly coexist in the studio, demonstrating the power of our new Analog Harmony Core Technology," says Freqport CEO Aran Gallagher. "It lets producers capture the authenticity of analog sound with the convenience and precision of digital control, so they can spend less time troubleshooting and more time creating."

 

The FreqInOut FO1 offers more as a user-friendly hardware interface than meets the eye. With a streamlined design, it features four ¼-inch jack audio inputs (+18dBu with -10dBV/+4dBu) and four audio outputs (+18dBu with ANALOG MATRIX per output), labeled Line Inputs (1–4) and Line Outputs (1–4), all accessible on the rear panel alongside a USB-C port for computer connection. This setup makes it easy to connect any outboard gear — such as channel strips, compressors, EQs, drum machines, guitar pedals, patch bays, saturators, and synthesizers — to a DAW, fully integrating them through the FreqInOut plug-in.

The FreqInOut FO1 centers on enhancing audio workflows effortlessly with its intuitive plug-in. Key features include Mid/Side mode for independent control of stereo or mono fields, the Hardware MIX feature for parallel processing, and precise gain staging. Users can easily mix analog and digital synths, experiment with effect pedal routings, or integrate FreqInOut FO1 into an existing patch bay matrix for endless creative possibilities. Additionally, users can scan a QR code in the plug-in to capture gear setups and create custom skins. With multiple analog processing circuits and 32-bit ESS converters supporting up to 192kHz, FreqInOut FO1 processes multiple audio signals simultaneously within a digital workflow.

 

Beyond simplifying outboard-to-DAW connections through the FreqInOut plug-in, the FreqInOut FO1 seamlessly expands any audio setup by adding four extra inputs and outputs — or eight when using two FreqInOut FO1 units — alongside its powerful features. The built-in hardware ANALOG MATRIX allows users to reconfigure signal flow through their outboard equipment effortlessly, with no added latency, making it easy to integrate and enhance an existing audio interface.
