Modulated Waveform: Electric Piano

One of the sounds that can be made with a modulated waveform is an Electric Piano sound. Electric  Piano has an Envelope almost similar to the envelope of the piano, and the control on the performance is similar to that of the piano. The 'Rhodes' electric piano, which was often used in popular music in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1970s, had a soft tone that generated some overdrive when pressed to chords, and these tones can be found frequently in jazz and funky music.

A typical harmonic spectrum of Electric Piano sounds is:

- As seen above, the ratio between the fundamental frequency and the partial frequency is 1:13

- In some cases, the number of partial frequency may vary slightly

- Thus, different kinds of electronic piano sounds can be created with similar spectrum to the above

- As seen in the harmonic spectrum of the electric piano, the electric piano sound is more simple and empty than gorgeous
