Synthesizer: Filter (1)
In digital synthesizers, Filters play two major roles:
1) First, Filters are doing filtering the D-A converted signal that converts the digital signal into analog. If you do not filter the signal in the D-A process, it will be a harsh sound, so you must filter it.
2) Second, Filters adjust tone. The filters in the analog synthesizer were simple fixed type rather than dynamic motion type. However, dynamic digital filters make it possible to make various changes of tone instantly.
